My Updated Nighttime Routine

Recently my skin has been going through it, I’ve been trying new products and routines at night and honestly, it just isn’t working for me. It took me a couple weeks to realize that I could in fact be making my skin worse by trying out new and trending products so I’ve decided to stick to what I know, and here is what I know:


Paula’s Choice Pore Normalizing Cleanser:

This gentle, acne-fighting cleanser removes excess oil, pore-clogging debris and makeup without drying skin or causing redness.

I love this Paula’s Choice Cleanser because I do have acne prone skin. This cleanser contains salicylic acid which helps to dissolve pore-clogging impurities without irritation and calms and refreshes the skin with its gel formula. I use this cleanser every night in the shower as the start of my routine and it helps remove any leftover makeup and oil from my face to prep my skin for the rest of my nighttime routine!


Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer

A two-in-one formula that preps and softens like a toner and moisturizes like a cream for maximum hydration benefits in one simple step.

Especially in these colder months, my skin has needed some extra hydration. This Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer is the perfect two in one with White Leaf Tea Water, which is full of amino acids to strengthen the skin barrier while also moisturizing and soothing. After cleansing my skin, this is the perfect hydration boost to prep for my treatments and actives.

Sheet Mask:

ESW Beauty Strawberries & Cream Soothing Raw Juice Sheet Mask

Strawberries & Cream has the perfect medley of ingredients that provide nourishment and hydration to your complexion. This sheet mask contains coconut, vanilla bean, almond milk, and strawberry extracts which help soothe sensitive skin.

As one last step of preparing my skin, I love to use this Strawberries & Cream Soothing Raw Juice Sheet Mask. This sheet mask contains ingredients like strawberries, almond milk, vanilla bean, and coconut which help reduce inflammation as well as calm and soothe the skin. I like to take this step to help soothe my sensitive skin before I go in with my retinol.


I then follow up with a prescription retinol that I got from my dermatologist. Like I said before, I do have acne prone skin and adding a prescription retinol like Tretinoin into my nighttime routine has completely altered my skin for the better. I used to suffer from many breakouts around my jawline and chin area and since using Tretinoin, I have seen huge improvements in my breakouts and I am left with smoother and softer skin overall. When I first started I did go through the scary purging phase, but it didn’t last long and I think the results were definitely worth it!


Byoma Hydrating Serum

This ultra-lightweight, moisture-boosting facial serum is enriched with hydrating heroes for bouncy, glowing skin and strengthened daily skin barrier function.

To seal everything in, I then go in with a hydrating serum. I love to use serums with ingredients like squalane and hyaluronic acid to lock in the benefits of my retinol and rehydrating. Lately, I’ve been loving this hydrating serum from Byoma because it contains a tri-ceramide complex, with squalane and glycerin which help to plump and moisturize my skin.


Farmacy Honey Halo Ceramide Face Moisturizer

An ultra-hydrating ceramide moisturizer clinically proven to visibly plump, improve the look of fine lines and replenish dry, distressed skin.

This is my favorite moisturizer to use during the colder winter months. It is thick and luscious, but also helps soothes and works for sensitive skin. With Buckwheat honey and Fig Fruit extract, this moisturizer provides long-lasting moisture and antioxidants while also soothing and hydrating. The Fig Fruit extract also works well to bind and restore moisture, leaving my skin plump and supple.

So that’s my updated nighttime routine and what has been working for me! It’s short, simple and it's to the point which is something I value nowadays!
