ESW Beauty Is WBENC Certified
ESW Beauty, our clean beauty skincare company, is announcing their WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council) certification, adding accreditation to their list of core values like women empowerment. A WBENC Certification “validates that a business is at least 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women” and “is considered the gold standard for women-owned business certification and is accepted by more than 1,000 corporations, in addition to some states, cities, and other entities”.
This announcement couldn’t have come at a better time, as the world prepares to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th.
Founded by Elina Sofia Wang in 2018, ESW Beauty has always been focused on promoting women’s empowerment. The company’s core values of inclusivity, transparency, and sustainability align perfectly with the principles of female entrepreneurship.
With around 70% of the team comprising women, ESW Beauty has consistently prioritized gender diversity and inclusivity in the workplace. The brand’s commitment to empowering women goes beyond the company’s workforce. They have also made it a point to partner with Women Aware, a local non-profit organization, that promotes the safety and self-sufficiency of individuals and families affected by domestic violence in Middlesex County, New Jersey.

The WBENC certification is a significant accolade for ESW Beauty as it recognizes the company’s commitment to promoting gender equality and female entrepreneurship. Elina’s perspective as a woman has been a significant advantage for ESW Beauty. Her personal experiences have led her to focus on creating a brand that is inclusive and empowering. She shared:
As a young female entrepreneur, I definitely experienced my fair share of gender discrimination. It isn’t always expressed in a very apparent way, there are times before even having a conversation, I have been doubted or my ideas shot down. I’ve realized that in some circumstances I can work twice as hard, but will still receive less than equal treatment but unfortunately this is an issue throughout the industry and entire world.
I have promised myself to never let outside judgment or words let me down and to keep fighting for myself and other women. I am happy to see over the past decade, there are more female leaders sitting in boardrooms and high power seats. These women have inspired me and I hope my work & efforts can do the same for others.
Elina has used these experiences to build a brand that is not just focused on the product, but also social responsibility. Unfortunately, women-owned businesses are still subject to discrimination, bias, and sometimes unequal opportunities. However, Elina has not let these challenges stop her from creating a brand that not only represents her values but also combats the inequalities of women in the workplace. Her determination and resilience have enabled ESW Beauty to thrive in a male-dominated business world and drive innovation and change within the industry.
